If you ever go to the jail, you will quickly learn it is located on a street of darkness.  Along the streets of Fresno & M you will find three jails, a police station, a courthouse, a methadone clinic, DA's office, bail bonds, lawyer's offices and

an empty lot. 

Our team has prayed for that empty lot for over a decade.  

Our vision is to put a Discipleship Center there, so those being released can come and receive prayer, meals, clothing, and other resources upon release.

Great things can happen in holding cells...

God has NO limits!

A BIBLE is the most valuable gift that could ever be given, and it is THE most important gift we could give away at the jail! From children to adult Bibles,

they are available for all ages! 

Tracts & other items are available as well.

In the midst of the pandemic, we have been blessed to still be able to minister outside the jail. Although there are very, very few people, we do encounter some family members and releasees.  While we may not have our normal set up outside, we are able to provide those we meet with a snack pack, tracts and a Bible. 

God's work must continue!

Our Vision...

While outside the jail on Friday nights we have the blessing of encountering and meeting so many beautiful people!  We are able to pray and/or visit with inmates that are being released, family members, staff members, community members and more.    

Children are a blessing!

After meeting this precious three-year-old child outside the jail one January night in 2017, she instantly held a special place in the hearts of each team member.  Two weeks later team members met with the child's grandmother in an attempt to keep in contact with the child.  The grandmother began attending weekly Bible studies and brought great-grandma too!  For five years the Bible study group prayed for the salvation of the child's mother who was living a life of destruction, addiction and sin.  

In 2022, the mother of the child and the man she was visiting that night at the jail were GLORIOUSLY saved.  Completely TRANSFORMED and serving the Lord WHOLEHEARTEDLY!  They married and went from being homeless to having their own home and employed as well as being used mightily in and out of the church.

Today, that precious child is now ten years old and is being trained up in the Lord Jesus Christ.  Mother and child attend the same weekly Bible study that grandma and great-grandma attend.  Four generations serving faithfully!  Praise God for His unfailing love, salvation and restoration!

The Prayer Book is an important part of the ministry, it contains the names and prayer requests of the individuals we meet.  The team is encouraged to pray for the requests throughout the week.

The children get to take home Bibles, pillows, beanies/scarves, trinkets and treats....

Building relationships is very important to NBM.  We have met so many wonderful people and have made lasting friendships and gained new family members.  The possibilities are endless through Jesus Christ & His never ending love!  

In November 2023 team member, Debbie began preparing home cooked meals for the releasees.  Releasees are so grateful to have a meal upon release.  If any meals are left over the team will distribute the remaining meals around Fresno.

Celebrations outside the jail....such a blessed time!

Before heading to the jail on Friday nights we gather for prayer.  On one particular night in (April 2019) we prayed strongly for the individuals that were in the holding cell waiting to be release.  We prayed that God would begin to speak to their hearts and draw them close to Him.  

That night when we got to the jail we were greeted by 2 young men who had just been released.  They were so excited to find out we had prayer, food, drinks and Bibles for them.  They began sharing in a joyful, rather loudly way of how they just asked God to help them when they got released.  They had been praying while in the holding cell that God would reveal Himself to them.  

God is so good and powerful...these young men experienced the power and love of Jesus that night!  God speaks....even in holding cells.

This gentleman was near the jail on a Friday night that we were out there.  He accepted a Bible and minutes later we noticed him in a corner reading it! Brought great joy to all of us!  What a blessing every Bible is that we're able to give out!
